Problem
The engine emits smoke
The machine does not seem to have full
chipping power

Possible solution
wipe off the spark plug and put it
back in again.
Is the petrol fresh, clean and lead-
•
free? If not, change it. Use a fuel
stabiliser, if necessary.
Does the engine have sufficient clean
•
oil? If the oil is dirty, change it.
Check the condition of the oil and top
•
up, if necessary.
Check the oil level and top up, if
•
necessary.
Check the air filter and clean or
•
change it, if necessary.
Has the correct oil been used?
•
Change it, if necessary .
Clean the cooling fins if they are dirty.
•
The belts are possibly too loose or
•
slipping. Adjust or change the belts,
if necessary
