AIR VANTAGE
566X HYDRAULIC
®
COMPRESSOR SYSTEM
The Air Vantage
®
566X Hydraulic has an integrated VMAC
compressor system installed on the machine. The compressor
system is protected from over pressurization by a mechanical
inlet control in the compressor that regulates air ow in response
to the demand. There is also a 200 psi (1,379 kPa) pressure relief
valve in the air/oil separation tank to protect the system from over
pressurization. If the oil temperature exceeds 290°F (143°C) the
clutch is disengaged, draining the high-pressure air and reducing
the load on the engine.
VMAC recommends the use of certi ed and approved high
performance synthetic oil which is used to lubricate the
compressor. The air/oil separator tank removes the remaining oil.
The oil is passed through a replaceable lter to remove
contaminants. The compressor intake is equipped with a
replaceable paper air lter element.
Refer to the Compressor Operator's Manual for more details on
the system.
HYDRAULIC SYSTEM
The Air Vantage
®
566X Hydraulic has an integrated Casappa
hydraulic pump installed on the machine.
WARNING
Ensure machine is mounted to truck, hydraulic hoses are
connected & tight, and system is lled with hydraulic uid
and devoid of air before turning pump on.
Machine installation
1. The machine needs to have a minimum clearance of 12" all
around the perimeter to ensure cooling air ow.
2. Mount the machine in the truck.
3. Connect the truck system hydraulic hoses to the welder:
the inlet is an SAE #12, 37° JIC male are tting and the
outlet is an SAE #10, 37° JIC male are tting. Torque
inlet hose nut 78-82 ft-lb (106-11 N-m) and outlet hose
nut 57-63 ft-lb (77-85 N-m).

Hydraulic System Integration
1. Follow the tool component or system manufacturer's
guidelines regarding the necessary equipment and safety
devices to be installed.
2. At a minimum the hydraulic system requires a hydraulic fluid
reservoir (with immersion heater in some colder climates),
pressure relief valves, control valves, and filters. More
equipment may be required and depends on system design.
3. The use of quick disconnect fittings is not recommended due
to higher system losses, elevated fluid temperatures and
reduction of system performance.

4. Regarding the use of angled fittings:
The use of sweep elbows is recommended to prevent
turbulence and reduce the possibility of pump cavitation at
the inlet. Sweep elbows can be identified by having a
generous and smooth radial path from the start of the angle
to the end. Fittings to avoid are those that are cross-drilled
to the intersection point.
