Troubleshooting chart

There is fuel
1. Fuel
Check if there is

2. Compression

Wet
Remove plug and
check electrodes
Dry
Remove the
fuel pipe
Turn the fuel
cock to "OFF"
Turn the fuel
cock to "RES"
Supply fuel
Compression normal
Ask a Yamaha dealer to inspect
Wipe clean with
dry cloth
Attach plug cap and Kick the kick
ground to chassis starter strongly
Water or dirt
Clean the fuel tank
mixed in fuel
Turn the fuel
Check fuel flow
cock to "ON"
Restart engine
Spark good
Spark weak
No spark
Ask a Yamaha dealer to inspect

Fuel cock clogged
Clean the fuel cock
Ignition system normal
Adjust plug gap or
replace plug
