1 Press the preprogrammed Emergency button.
The display shows no changes, the LED does not
light up, and you hear no tones. The silent
emergency state continues until you perform the
next step.
2 Perform one of the following actions:
You press and hold the preprogrammed
Emergency button for about a second to exit
the Silent Emergency Alarm mode.
Press and release the PTT button to exit the
Silent Emergency Alarm mode and enter
regular dispatch or Emergency Call mode.

Change of Channels during Emergency

For ALL Emergency transmissions, when changing
channels:
If the new channel is also preprogrammed for
Emergency, you can change channels while in
Emergency operation. The emergency alarm or
call continues on the new channel.
If the new channel is NOT preprogrammed for
Emergency, the display shows NO EMERG, and you
hear an invalid tone until you exit the Emergency
state or change to a channel preprogrammed for
Emergency.

Emergency Keep-Alive Feature

This feature, when enabled, prevents the radio from
being turned off via the On/Off Control Knob when
the radio is in the Emergency state.
Note: The radio only exits the Emergency state using
one of the ways mentioned in the previous sections.
