PARKING AND LEAVING THE VEHICLE
1. After stopping the vehicle, firmly press park brake pedal until it locks. This will prevent the vehicle from
rolling.
2. Turn the key switch to the OFF position and place the Forward/Reverse handle in the NEUTRAL position.
Remove the key and turn the fuel shut-off valve to the closed (OFF) position when the vehicle is not in
use (Figure 12, Page 23). See also Figure 18, Page 29.

BED LATCH

See General Warnings on page 10.
The vehicle is equipped with a bed latch on the driver side of the vehicle (Figure 10) and an automatically
engaging prop rod (Figure 11). To lift the bed, pull the latch handle toward the rear of the vehicle and lift the
bed. To close the bed, disengage the prop rod and gently lower the bed until the bed latch engages. DO NOT
drop the bed. See following WARNING and NOTE.
WARNING
• Keep hands clear of crush area between bed and seat back support.
NOTE: The vehicle is equipped with an automatically engaging prop rod (Figure 11), unless equipped
with the hydraulic or electric bed lift accessory.

PROP ROD

The vehicle is equipped with an automatically engaging prop rod and prop rod track on the driver side of the
rear body (Figure 11). When pulling the bed latch handle and lifting the bed, the prop rod will come to rest in
one of the notches in the prop rod track. See following DANGER and WARNING.
