STEP 7
POSITION THE FILTER
• Position the fi lter along the perimeter of the pond with the
spillway pouring back into the water. The fi lter can also be
positioned on top of a waterproof liner to guide water back
into the pond.
TIP
If needed, use a soil tamper or cinder block to
compact the ground beneath the fi lter, preventing
future settling.
• Use a 3-foot level to ensure the fi lter is level from
side-to-side and tilted forward a 1/4 bubble.

STEP 8
ATTACH PIPE TO FILTER FITTING
• Attach 1", 1.25", or 1.5" pipe (not included) to the fi tting
at the back of the fi lter. It is recommended to use a hose
clamp (not lincluded) to secure the pipe onto the fi tting.
TIP
In some instances the pipe/tubing may be tight or
diffi cult to connect to the fi tting. If this is the case,
it is recommended to heat the hose with a hair
dryer or dip it for a few seconds in very hot water.
Lubrication such as silicone grease or olive oil can
also be used.
TIP
Use as large of a diameter of pipe as possible
to achieve maximum water fl ow. If using a pipe
diameter larger than the smallest section of the
fi tting, trim off the smaller sections to avoid fl ow
restriction.
