2.1

Conformity

This product complies with the directive of the Council of the
European Communities on the approximation of the laws of the
Member States relating to electromagnetic compatibility (EMC
Council Directive 89/336/EEC) and concerning electrical
equipment for use within specified voltage limits (Low-voltage
directive 73/23 EEC).
This conformity is proved by tests conducted by Siemens AG in
accordance with Article 10 of the Council Directive in agreement
with the generic standards EN 50081 and EN 50082 for EMC
directive, and with the standard EN 60255–6 for the low-voltage
directive.
The device is designed in accordance with the international
standards of IEC 60 255 and the German standards DIN 57 435
part 303 (corresponding to VDE 0435 part 303).

General information

These operating instructions contain the information that is
necessary for the proper and safe operation of the products
described. This booklet is intended for technically qualified
personnel having received special training in, or having special
knowledge of, measurement and control engineering, hereinafter
called automation engineering.
The knowledge and correct application of the warnings and
instructions contained in this booklet are prerequisites to the safe
installation and commissioning of this product, as well as to
proper and safe operation and maintenance. Only qualified
personnel as defined in the section below have the necessary
special knowledge required for a correct interpretation of the
general safety hints and warnings given in this booklet, and for
their application to the job in hand.
