    What does it do? Citel Technologies EXTender products allow workers at branch offices or home offices to interact with the corporate PBX as if they were on-site. A simple analog phone line, along with the Switch and Remote Modules, will deliver the voice path and telephony features over the PSTN network to the corporate head office.

    EXTender 1100A Using the Management Console The Welcome screen is displayed automatically when you connect to the Switch Module and Remote Module using a serial cable. You must make sure that your terminal window is sized so that you can see the border of # symbols around the contents.

    You will also be asked to confirm that you want to save changes if you select the Save option. You may need to reboot the Switch Module or Remote Module for your changes to take effect depending on the menu item programmed.

Prior to configuring through the Management Browser, a valid IP address must first be assigned to the units and the Web server must also be enabled.

    User ID. The default ID is 1 (representing the port number). This feature is also typically used when connecting to one of Citel’s multi-user devices such as a PBXgateway.     Kiwi Syslog Daemon is a freeware Syslog Daemon for Windows. It receives, logs, displays and forwards Syslog messages from hosts such as Citel’s EXTender products, routers, switches, Unix hosts and any other syslog enabled device. However, any third party Syslog application can be used.

    Confirm that the analog phone on the switch side rings, the call can be answered and that there is adequate voice quality. Check that the IP address information (IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Router) for the Switch Module and Remote Module are valid and set correctly for remote configuration of the Switch and Remote Module.
