Testing Relay Diode
Diode
Note: diode is normally covered with heat shrink tube.
This has been removed in order to show the diode band
Diode Test:
1.
Turn Mower OFF.
2. Unbolt one leg of diode and
disconnect from the circuit.
3. Set DMM to "Diode".
4. Connect
red
lead at
black lead at black arrow.
DMM should read approx .7V.
5. Reverse the
red
DMM should read "open circuit"
6. Replace or reconnect diode.
IMPORTANT: Make sure diode is
installed correctly. Band on
diode indicates polarity
red
arrow,
and black leads.
