Removing and Replacing Tilt Tab
Place a standard (slotted) screwdriver centered vertically between two adjacent tilt tabs. While
pulling gently on the tab, twist the screwdriver so that pressure is placed on the side of the tilt tab.
The tab should release from the pivot bar.
Replace the tab by gently pressing it into position on the pivot bar.
Tilt Tab Layout -Model Notes
The illustration split across the following pages shows the tilt tab layout differences between
models. Note that the 445F has the swell and great tabs swapped. This is accomplished by install-
ing jumper W6 on the 5218-301 (Output Pre-amp) board.
The C-440, 441, and 550 have "GREAT PEDAL UNENCLOSED" instead of "GREAT TO
SWELL EXPRESSION" found on the other models. This is accomplished by installing jumper W7
on the 5218-301 (Output Pre-amp) board.
The C-445E and C-445F have a different set of voices. This is accomplished by using a
different set of control ROMS (4003-103) and a different set of voice ROMS (4003-101) on the
5215-304 (Digital Voice Module) board.
Test Mode Display
A test mode is provided to aid in calibrating the ND converter, testing the pots, and setting the
tremulent controls to their factory default values.
The instrument may be placed in Test Mode by installing a jumper on W8 of the 5218-301
(Output Pre-amp) board and turning the instrument on. The Test Mode is exited by removing the
JUmper.
Test mode lamps are assigned by physical location and have no particular relation to the name
on the tab. The illustration on the following pages shows the relationship between a control and it's
respective indicator lamp.
It
also indicates in parenthesis, when the lamp will light.
