    Step 1. Unpack the adapter in a static-free environment. Remove the adapter from the antistatic bag, and carefully inspect for damage. If damage is noticed, contact Lenovo or your reseller support representative. Attention: To avoid the risk of data loss, back up your data before you change your system configuration.

For more details about the mechanism, see the hardware documentation of your system. CAUTION: Touch a grounded metal object before handling the adapter.
