Heat sink
ThinkSystem RAID 5350–8i adapters include a passive heat sink capable of bidirectional airflow. The heat
sink does not support an optional fan. The heat sink has four push-pins located at its four corners to ensure
an even distribution of force across the top of the ASIC. For airflow requirements, see "Environmental
specifications" on page 25.
Visual indicators
LEDs on ThinkSystem RAID 5350-8i adapters provide a visual indication for the board hardware status. The
LED locations vary, and may be on the front of the board or back of the board (see Figure 4 "ThinkSystem
RAID 5350–8i LED locations" on page 8). The LED states are described in Table 6 "ThinkSystem RAID 5350–
8i Status LEDs" on page 8.
