6.1 Interchangeable jaw

Check whether the nominal width of the press fitting corresponds to the nominal width of the
segments.
2.
Open the press jaw (Fig. 2).
3.
Push the interchangeable jaw onto the press fitting and release the jaw lever.
4.
Perform the pressing operation.
5.
Open the interchangeable jaw and release it from the press fitting.
6.2 Press collars
CAUTION!
Dirt, swarf, etc. in the pressing contour can lead to faulty pressing.
Therefore:
Make sure that there is no dirt, swarf, etc. in the pressing contour of the segments.
Note!
Always follow the system supplier's instructions when placing the interchangeable jaw
onto the press fitting.
CAUTION!
Danger of crushing during pressing operation!
There is a risk that fingers and hands will be crushed.
Therefore:
Keep all body parts and foreign objects away from the interchangeable jaws when
initiating the pressing operation.
Do not hold the jaw levers with your hands during the pressing operation.
CAUTION!
Loose connection through incorrect pressing
Therefore:
Make sure that the interchangeable jaw is fully closed when the pressing operation
is complete.
Have incompletely closed interchangeable jaws and the press device inspected for
damage by an authorised workshop.
Note for press collars with nominal width M108.0!
The nominal width M108.0 is pressed using 2 different adaptor jaws. Please refer to the
table below for the corresponding adaptor jaw.
The nominal width M108.0 is first pre-pressed using the adaptor jaw (1.). The press
collar remains on the press fitting in this pre-pressed condition. The catch holds the
press collar in its position.
Pressing of the press fitting is completed using the adaptor jaw (2.).
