TM-642/TM-742 QUICK START
1. Push the VFO button
2. Enter the desired frequency
3. Push the SHIFT button to select + or -
4. Push the TONE button, so the T appears in the display
5. Selecting tone/encode, push the F button for more than two seconds, then push TONE. The
PL/Encode number will be displayed (example 88.5). Turn the main tuning knob to the desired
PL, then push the F button to go back to the normal display.
6. Storing all this information into MEMORY, push the F button and release it the numbers for
memory will appear in the right of the display. Turn the main tuning knob to the desired
Memory of your choice, then push MR button this will store all the information into the memory
you choose
7. To recall that Memory just push the MR button
