    Intended Use The NEO mobile phone, subsequently referred to as mobile phone, is designed for use within a mobile phone network. The mobile phone is only intended for private purposes. Any other use is considered unintended use. Unauthorised modi- fication or alterations are not permitted; doing so leads to loss of rights of claims under the terms of guarantee and warranty.

  • Page 15 1.10.1 Inserting the SIM Card Before you can use your mobile phone, you must insert your SIM card (not included). The mobile phone also offers the Dual SIM function, which means that you can install two SIM cards. The mobile phone can be fitted with SIM cards of the following formats: 1 × micro SIM card, 1 × nano SIM card Remove the battery compartment cover 1 15 Insert the SIM card in the corresponding slot.
  • Page 16 1.10.2 Inserting a MicroSD Memory Card (Option) If you want to increase the memory capacity of the mobile phone, you can insert a microSD memory card (not included in the equipment supplied) with a memory of up to 32 GB in the mobile phone.

When doing so, ensure the bat- tery is aligned correctly. Replace the battery compartment cover . The battery com- 1 15 partment cover latches audibly into place.

    1.11 Charging the Mobile Phone (Charging Cradle) You can charge the mobile phone using the charging cradle con- tained in the package purchased. Connect the USB cable to the power adapter plug. Connect the USB cable to the charging cradle. Connect the plug on the power adapter to a properly installed power socket.

    Operating the Mobile Phone The mobile phone is generally operated using the touch-sensitive display. Touch and swipe your fingers directly on the screen in order to navigate through the menus and start functions. Alterna- tively, you can use an appropriate stylus. The following overview indicates the finger movements to use: Tap your finger on the buttons or elements to start functions. Swipe your finger through lists and views to scroll in them. Draw two fingers apart on an element or view on the screen to zoom in. This finger move- ment is not available in all applications.

    Function Keys The following overview illustrates the function available; the SOS button is also available on the rear of the mobile phone. Call button Open the telephone function, take a call and end a call in progress. Home button Switch to the start screen and switch be- tween applications (keep pressed).     Switching On the Mobile Phone Press the On/Off button for 3 seconds. ▸ The mobile phone is switched on. The start screen appears after a short time. When starting the mobile phone up for the first time, please pro- ceed with the initial installation as described on Page Switching Off the Mobile Phone Press the On/Off button for 3 seconds.

    Screen Lock The screen lock on the mobile phone ensures that functions cannot be accidentally started via the elements in the display. When the screen lock is activated, only the screen is switched off, the mobile phone can still be reached. The standard setting causes the screen lock to be activated automatically after 1 minute if there is no input within that time.

    Starting the Mobile Phone for the First Time After switching on the mobile phone for the first time, you are assisted by a set-up wizard through all the necessary steps to configure the Android operating system. Press the On/Off button for 3 seconds. Select the language required in the start screen. Optionally: Tap on the ┣Display settings┫ button if you want to zoom the display.
  • Page 25 Select a method (pattern, PIN, password) to define the screen lock on your mobile phone. Define the pattern or enter the re- quired PIN or password. Alternatively, tap on the ┣Skip┫ button. Optionally: Adapt it in other steps provided by Google Servic- es, such as Google Assistant, voice control or Google Play. Follow the subsequent instructions provided by the set-up wizard.

    Start Screen The start screen displays the following elements: Status bar All Apps (applications) Time and Date Swipe with your finger on the screen from right to left to open other pages of the start screen and display more apps.

    Status Bar The status bar is at the top margin of the screen and displays mes- sages and provides quick access to selected functions. The following overview indicates icons which can appear: Mobile phone network Indicates the connection quality of the mobile phone network. More bars = better connection.
  • Page 29 Error/Warning message Indicates that a problem has occurred. The message contains further information regarding the cause of the problem. Charge status indicator Indicates the current charge status of the battery. No SIM card Indicates that no SIM card has been installed or that the SIM card has not been detected.

Tap on the screen keyboard to enter the relevant characters and digits.

    SOS Key (Emergency Call Function) You can initiate an emergency call by using the SOS key. You will hear an SOS signal first of all. Then the SOS messages are sent to the phone numbers defined in succession. Following that, the numbers are then dialled, in succession,via the handsfree function. Up to five phone numbers can be assigned for the SOS function. NOTE: Never assign official emergency call numbers (e.g. 112). A false alarm can lead to considerable costs which could be charged to you.
