  • Page 3 IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION Dress properly. DO NOT wear loose clothing, dangling objects, or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery, or long hair can be caught in moving parts. Air vents on the tool often cover moving parts and should be avoided. Wear the proper personal protective equipment when necessary.

Use enough ventilation or exhaust, or both, to keep fumes and gases from your breathing zone and general area. Where ventilation is questionable, have a qualified technician take an air sampling to determine the need for corrective measures.

    OPERATION CONNECTION OF THE WELDING END One end adjoins the cable for the welding torch through a quick joint and the other end adjoins the work piece by the cable with the quick joint. The quick joint at the output end must be screwed in a clockwise direction firmly.

    OPERATION SETTING UP 1. Make practice welds on pieces of scrap the same thickness as your intended work piece to practice technique before welding anything of value. Clean the weld surfaces thoroughly with a wire brush or angle grinder; there must be no rust, paint, oil, or other materials on the weld surfaces, only bare metal. 2.

    OPERATION CLEANING THE WELD 1. A weld from flux-core wire will be covered by slag. Use a Chipping Hammer to knock this off. Be careful not to damage the weld or base material. 2. Then, use a Wire Brush to further clean the weld or use an angle grinder (sold separately) to shape the weld.
