Page Protection

If the printed images are too complex to print, the printer may print a partial
image on the page. If this occurs, the printer has lost some print data and
will indicate a "print overrun" error by printing an error report.
The page protection feature allows the printer to create the image to be
printed in memory before physically moving the paper through the printer.
Therefore, setting page protection to ON may eliminate the "PRINT
OVERRUN" error.
The "AUTO" setting does not require additional memory and
automatically uses page protection only when it is necessary.
Occasionally, when AUTO page protection is on, processing complex print
data may be slightly delayed.
Note
To set the Page Protection to A4, Letter or Legal paper sizes, the following
total capacity of memory is required.
If your printer does not have enough memory for page protection, your
document may be printed at 300 dpi.
You can set this function in the following ways.
The supplied printer driver for Windows 95/Windows 3.1
The supplied RPC program for DOS
