Selective Call (ASTRO
A Selective Call is a call from an individual radio to another individual radio with privacy.
Receiving a Selective Call
When you receive a Selective Call:
You hear two alert tones and the yellow LED illuminates while the green LED blinks.
The speaker un-mutes.
Procedure:
1.
Hold the radio vertically 1 to 2 inches (2.5 to 5.0 cm) from your mouth.
2.
Press and hold the PTT button to talk.
3.
Release the PTT button to listen.
NOTICE:
If you press PTT button before pressing the Menu Select button directly below Call, your conversation is
broadcasted to all members of the talkgroup.
If 20 seconds pass before you press the Menu Select button directly below the Call, you are not responding
privately to the call. Instead, you initiate a Selective Call.
