Directional or Non-Directional Earth-Fault Relay
Operator's Manual
• A text message and LED indication. This type of message is related to an internal
fault or an alarm message.

Priority of indication messages

The messages on the LCD have a certain priority order. If different types of
indications are activated simultaneously, the message with the highest priority
appears on the display. The priority order of the messages:
1. Internal fault
2. Trip, CBFP
3. Start
Indication messages (priorities 1-3) give automatically an overview of protection
and condition monitoring operations and internal protection relay faults. The
indications are shown in a priority order on the LCD display and the indication
messages remain active until acknowledged by pressing the [C] button.

Protection indications

• When one of the protection functions of the relay starts, the name of the
concerned function appears on the LCD display. The yellow indicator LED is
also lit.
• If a started protection function is blocked, the yellow indicator LED is blinking
and the name of the corresponding function is shown on the display.
• When a protection function operates, the name of the function and the energizing
input that caused the trip appear on the LCD display. The red indicator LED is
also lit.
• When a protection function delivers a delayed trip for circuit-breaker failure
protection, the text CBFP appears on the LCD, the red indicator LED is lit and
the energizing input that caused the fault is shown on the display.
