Adjusting Surface Burner Flame
Characteristics
Properly adjusted burner flames are clean and blue with
a distinct inner cone approximately ½ inch long.
Inner cone
A—¼ inch to ½ inch long
1. Turn controls to OFF position.
2. Remove grate and burner caps from module.
3. Remove module according to "Removing Module"
section.
4. Locate air shutters on rear of module.
5. Adjust each air shutter using small screw driver.
• Slide air shutter until shutter is approximately

inch open.

6. Replace module according to "Installing Burner
Module" section and check for proper flame.
• If burner flame is blowing or noisy, remove
module and reduce air flow by closing shutter.
• If burner flame is yellow and does not hold its
shape, remove module and increase air flow by
opening air shutter.
7. Replace burner grate when flame is properly
adjusted.

Igniting Burner without Electricity

If power is not available, ignite burner with a match.
Do not ignite grill, griddle, or rotisserie when power is
not available.
To avoid risk of personal injury, property damage,
due to excessive smoke or fire, do not attempt to use
grill, griddle, or rotisserie when power is not available.
Fan must be running to exhaust smoke and fumes.
1. Hold burning match ½ inch from burner head.
2. Push and turn burner control knob to LITE position.
• Remove hand when burner ignites.
3. Turn burner control knob to OFF position
when finished.
