8 Operating the unit
8.1 Switching on

Switch the digital receiver on by pressing the
remote control.
If the us er-dependent parental control (TechniFamily) is activated, the user selection now appears.
8.2 Switching o

Pr ess the On/Standby button either on the device or on the remote control to switch the device
o again.

The receiver is now in standby mode, and the time is displayed on the receiver panel (where activated).
If the time is not shown, the receiver still needs to acquire it. To do this, switch the receiver on, and
set it to reception of a major channel (e.g. ZDF in Germany) for approx. 30 seconds to automatically
acquire the time.
8.3 Selecting a channel
8.3.1 Using the up/down channel keys

When entering channel numbers with multiple digits, you have approx. three seconds after pressing a key to
complete the entry.
If you wish to enter a number consisting of only one, two or three digits, you can speed up the entry
procedure by keeping the key
