Use slow and steady insertion speed and minimal
rotation to push core sampler into the soil. A brief
rotation at bottom of stroke will snap off the core in
tight clay, giving you a fuller core as you retract.
(Figure 12) Excessive rotation may affect the
condition of your cores.
