1. Remove machine from box

After removing the packing materials from the box, gently lift your Baby Lock serger by grasping the

2. Plug in the machine
Plug the power cord into the machine fi rst, then into a wall outlet. The power switch is located toward

the back on the right side of the machine. Always make sure the power is OFF when the machine is
not in use. Available foot control for 110-120V area : YC-482.

for 220-240V area : Model YC-483N-1 or YC-483N or YC-168S.

3. Polarized plug
T h is applianc e h as a polariz ed plug ( one b lad e w id er t h an t h e ot h er) . T o red uc e t h e ris k of elec t ric
shock, this plug is intended to fi t in a polarized outlet only one way. (fi g. A) If the plug does not fi t fully
in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fi t, contact a qualifi ed electrician to install the proper
out let . D o not m od if y t h e plug in any w ay.
4. Foot controller

5. Position the telescopic thread guide.

6. Opening front cover
The front cover may be opened simply by placing your fi ngers behind the cover at the upper right
side and gently pull toward you. (fi g. D)
7. Opening cutting blade cover
