1. Technical description

1.1 Area of application

The junction box connects load cells to the evaluation
electronics. Four load cells can be switched in parallel
in one junction box (Fig. 1, Page 85). If more than 4
load cells are to be connected, a second junction box
must be switched in parallel via a cross connection
(Fig. 2, Page 86). DMS load cells can be connected via
a 4-wire or 6-wire technique. The 6-wire technique
should be used for the cable connection from the
junction box to the weighing module.

1.2 Setup

The housing is made from impact-proof, powder-
coated die-cast aluminum and consists of a base
section and a cover. It is sealed against penetration by
dust and water jets in accordance with the IP 66
protection rating. The cable enters the casing through
screw-type connections that ensure high
electromagnetic compatibility. A high resistance to
electromagnetic interference is achieved by applying
the shield to the screw-type connection.
The electric conductors are connected using spring
terminals. This technique makes for vibration-resistant
and maintenance-free connections and ensures long-
term contact reliability.
