A.1 Certificates & approvals
The SIMATIC Ident products described in these operating instructions meet the requirements
of the EU directive 2014/34/EU "Equipment and protective systems for use in hazardous
areas".
Note
Type of protection of the device
The devices are approved for various types of protection. You can find the type of protection
of your device and the ATEX certificate number on the nameplate.
Permitted types of protection
The following types of protection are possible:

You will find the current versions of the standards in the currently valid ATEX certificates.
Specific conditions of use
1. The equipment shall only be used in an area of not more than pollution degree 2, as defined
in EN 60664-1
2. The modules shall be installed in a suitable enclosure providing a degree of protection of at
least IP54 according to EN 60079-7, taking into account the environmental conditions under
which the equipment will be used.
3. Provisions shall be made to prevent the rated voltage from being exceeded by transient
disturbances of more than 119 V.
