8. Tighten or loosen the lock nut as required. Advancement of the nut
until the next lock washer tang is aligned results in 0.0008-inch (0.02
mm) less end play. Advancing the lock nut until the same notch lines
up with the next lock washer tang results in 0.003-inch (0.08 mm) less
end play.
9. Repeat Steps 5 and 6.
10. When the end play setting is correct, set one tang of the lock washer
into a slot in the lock nut.
11. Inspect and replace the O-ring on the oil seal holder and on t h e
end cap if damaged. Replace the oil seals.
12. Reinstall the oil seal holder, oil seal, and retaining ring (Figure 6.10,
Bearing Frame Overall) making sure the seal and O-ring are lubricated
with grease or oil.
13. Install the bearing frame cap and oil seal on the motor end of the
bearing frame.
