WARNINGS

Please read these warnings before using the device for
the fi rst time.
Mains Connection Cable
Hold the mains plug fi rmly in your hands when
inserting the mains lead into or removing it from the
socket.
Never touch the device, insert the mains plug or
remove it from the socket when your hands are moist
or wet.
Keep the mains lead away from sources of heat (e.g.
radiators, cookers, candles) and open fl ames.
Never place objects on the mains lead. Never try to
repair the mains lead.
Remove dirt and dust from the mains lead and plug
at regular intervals.
If the device should fall on the fl oor, remove the
mains plug immediately from the socket.
If the device starts to give off smoke or abnormal
noises you should also remove the mains plug from
the socket immediately.
The device must never be opened! It should only be
repaired by qualifi ed specialists.
Positioning the Device
The device must not be set up under the following
conditions:
The device must not be exposed to direct sunlight.
Never set up the device near sources of heat (e.g. ra-
diators, cookers etc.). Operation in cars is prohibited.
Do not expose the device to high temperatures (gre-
ater than 35°C) or high relative humidity (more than
90%).
Avoid excessive dust.
Do not place the device near strong magnetic fi elds
more places where there is a static charge.
Avoid vibrations, knocks or surfaces which are not
level.
If the above requirements are not complied with, the
device may be permanently damaged.

When you are not using the device:
Switch off the device by the power switch when you
are not using it.
If you intend not to use the device for a prolonged
period, remove the mains plug from the socket. No
foreign bodies must be allowed to enter the device.
Never touch components inside the device! Otherwi-
se you may suffer an electric shock and the device
may be damaged.
The device should never be opened!
Never allow foreign bodies to enter the device. Do
not place such items in the disk drawer.
Warnings
Keep liquids, open fl ames and magnets away from the
device:
Never place vessels containing liquids (e.g. vases,
glasses, bottles etc.) on or near the device; the liquid
might enter the device and lead to permanent dama-
ge or cause an electric shock.
Never place open fl ames (e.g. candles etc.) on or
near the device.
Do not place magnets (such as loudspeakers) in the
immediate vicinity of the device. Otherwise this might
lead to malfunctions and damage to the device.
Positioning:
Set the device up in a horizontal position; no other
heavy objects should be placed on the device.
Never position the device above another piece of
equipment (e.g. amplifi er etc.) which could give off
heat.
Condensation
Humidity may lead to condensation, which could cause
malfunctions:
Therefore the device should not be set up in rooms
with a high level of humidity (e.g. bathroom, swim-
ming pool etc.).
Do not use the device if it is still cold and has just
been transferred to a warm room. Wait until the de-
vice has reached room temperature. If condensation
has nevertheless formed inside the device, this may
lead to malfunctions. In such cases the device should
be switched on and allowed to stand for approxima-
tely 1 hour before a disk is played.
Interference with TV Reception
Where reception conditions are poor there may be
disruption to television reception; this is neither a mal-
function of the device nor of the television set. In such
cases we recommend that you turn off the device when
you would like to watch television.
