5 Installation and assembly

5.1 Installation advice
WARNING
Before starting work, make sure that the pipe-
work and components have cooled down and
been drained.
Before starting work, disconnect electrical com-
ponents from power and protect them against
accidental restart
The boiler connection system is available with or wit-
hout pump.
The individual components of the model without pump
are supplied loosely connected. After installation of
the pump, the connections have to be tightened.
When leaving the factory, the supply pipe is on the
right hand side but it can be changed on site (see
5.8/5.9).
The "Regumat S" allows the isolation of the heating
circuit. It consists of an isolation device with thermo-
meters integrated in the handles and a distance piece
for length compensation in the supply pipe. The check
valve integrated in the return pipe avoids gravity cir-
culation.
The "Regumat M3" has the same design and function
as the "Regumat S". It is additionally equipped with a
three-way mixing valve and an actuator. The three-
way mixing valve serves to regulate the flow tempe-
rature and has a bypass with manual presetting. A
manually set return flow share can be added to the
supply pipe via this bypass in order to reduce the
flow temperature of a surface heating e.g.
5.2 Installation
The pipework has to be flushed thoroughly before in-
stalling the "Regumat" connection group. Installation
is possible in any position (horizontal, oblique or ver-
tical in ascending or descending sections). It is im-
portant to note that the direction of flow must conform
to the arrow on the assembly.
Observe warning advice under paragraph 2
(safety notes)
CAUTION
– Do not use any lubricant or oil when installing
the boiler connection system as these may de-
stroy the seals. If necessary, all dirt particles
and lubricant or oil residues must be removed
from the pipework by flushing the latter.
– When choosing the operating fluid, the latest
technical development has to be considered
(e.g. VDI 2035).
– Please protect against external forces (e.g. im-
pacts, vibrations etc.).
After installation, check all installation points for le-
aks.

5.3 Installation advice
Remove the station (1) from the insulation. Pull off the
front insulation (4) and the insertion block (2).
Determine position of the station on the wall. Use rear
insulation as jig.
Insert distance piece (3) into the rear insulation (5)
and fix it onto the wall using the enclosed screw
Ø 8x100 (spanner size 12).
Mount station (1) into the insulation (5) and fix it onto
the wall using the enclosed screw Ø 8x100 (spanner
size 12).
NOTICE
When installing conventional pumps (asynchro-
nous motor), use the blind cover instead of the
insertion block.
5.4 Check valve
The product group is supplied pre-assembled. During
heating operation, the slot for opening the check valve
must be in horizontal position.
check valve
closed
Operating position: Check valve closed, passage only
in flow direction.
When putting the system into operation and during
maintenance work (filling and flushing), the check valve
must be opened.
Isolation function inactive: Check valve opened, flow
is possible in both directions.
During heating operation, the check valve must be set
to operating position.
