See limited warranty, general warnings, and instructions in www.harken.com/manuals. Purpose The Harken Vang-Master is designed to attach to the mast and boom on a sailboat as a mainsail control. Use of this product for other than normal sailboat applications is not covered by the limited warranty.

The VM has an integral sheave with Dyneema line to provide a 2:1 primary purchase. The end of the line has a spliced loop. Attach a 4:1 or 6:1 Harken block and tackle to loop to create a cascaded purchase system that is either 8:1 or 12:1. The block and tackle can have an integral cleat or set up to be double-ended and led aft to cleats on the boat.

Vang-Master rigid vangs are available for boats with vang fittings on the boom and mast partner. If your boat is not equipped with vang fittings on mast and boom, or if fitting width or pin diameter will not fit jaw and pin sizes listed in the chart below, contact Harken for information.

Periodically clean with mild detergent and water solution. Spin sheaves to distribute soap solution evenly. Flush with fresh water. The VM should not need rebuilding even over long periods. If it is not operational contact Vang-Master or Harken to discuss possible rebuilding.
