5. Maintaining your barbecue

Important:
NEVER leave the barbecue outside uncovered. Water may collect in the
barbecue, undercarriage or grease tray. If the grease tray has not been
cleaned after use and the barbecue is not covered, the tray will fill with water,
causing water and grease to flow into the undercarriage. We recommend
that you clean the grease tray after each use.
5.1 Cleaning
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents on the barbecue. These can scratch and
damage the surface.
* Heat the barbecue by turning on the main burners to the highest setting and
then closing the lid. Do not turn the infrared burner(s) on!
* Heat the barbecue for 10 minutes to 250°C.
* Turn off the burners and allow the barbecue ot cool down before cleaning.
* Clean the grills and flat top grill with a suitable cleaning brush (available in the
Boretti webshop).
* Remove the cooking grills and flat top grill.
* Brush charred (food) residue towards the grease tray.
* Remove the grease tray and clean it with warm water and detergent.
* Use warm water and detergent to clean the outside of the barbecue.
* Dry the barbecue with a soft, clean cloth.
5.2 Grease collection tray
The grease tray must be cleaned regularly to prevent the accumulation of dirt
and residue.
Please note:
Make sure the grease tray has cooled down before cleaning it.
5.3 Grills
The grills can be cleaned immediately after cooking, if the barbecue is turned
off, with a suitable cleaning brush. Cleaning the grills with a degreasing agent
and water increases the risk of oxidation/rust. This can be prevented by rubbing
the grills with olive oil after cleaning.
