Installing the Fan into the Wall Opening - External Mount (for 54" only)
Exterior mounting of the fan is advantageous when retrofitting, or due to wall thickness. They may be easily mount-
ed to the exterior sidewalls of the building (with or without cones attached). Use #10 fasteners. (Screws are not
included and must be provided by the installer.) Shutters are installed on the inside of the building and secured by
attaching Shutter Clips evently around the Shutter frame using the screws provided. Directions for fan and cone as-
sembly are detailed in the next section.
USE THE APPROPRIATE SCREWS
(for construction material type)
IN EACH PRE-DRILLED HOLE AT THE
FLANGE OF THE FAN HOUSING .
Exterior Install Complete
The shutter and rough opening that is used on the fan will dictate which shutter needs
to be used with exterior fans. Valco may not carry all sizes and therefore customer/
installer may need to provide.
