5.6. Troubleshooting

SYMPTOM
Pressure is not
applied to piping.
Compactor
does NOT
work.
Pressure is
applied to piping
but compactor
does not work.
Compactor works slowly
(with weak compacting force).
Irregular vibration or noise
while operating
Cushion plates (rubbers)
damage
Oil leak from hose connector
Oil leak from motor or
motor control valve

CAUSE
Electric system fault
(if voltage is not detected)
Solenoid valve fault
Carrier's hydraulic system
fault
Hose connection is
reversed
fault in motor control valve
(if pressure is applied to piping,
but not to motor hose)
Rotating parts fault
(if pressure is applied to motor
hose)
Insufficient supply oil flow
low relief pressure setting
Low oil level of oil tank
Oil temperature is too high
Fault in rotating parts
Fault in rotating parts
Cushion plate fault or
fixing bolts loosened
Rubbers are worn out.
O-ring damaged
Hose sealing damaged
Sealing part damage

ACTION
Check the electric fuse or wiring for operating
switch and solenoid valve.
Check spool stuck of the solenoid valve.
Clean the valve spool and reassemble it.
Replace the solenoid assembly of the valve.
Check the pump, control valve, relief valve or
hydraulic connections of carrier.
Check the hose direction.
Switch them if reversed.
Check motor control valve
Contact PRODEM service or dealer
Check motor, bearings or shaft.
Contact PRODEM service or dealer.
Increase engine speed.
Check the carrier's hydraulic system.
Contact PRODEM service or dealer, if the
problem persists.
Check the relief valve setting of the carrier's
hydraulic system, re-adjust it if needed.
(Refer to section 3.1)
Contact PRODEM service or dealer, if the
problem persists.
Fill up carrier's hydraulic oil tank.
Check the carrier's oil cooling system.
Contact carrier supplier or service
Check motor, bearings or shaft.
Contact PRODEM service or dealer.
Refill gear oil and inspect operating condition.
Contact PRODEM service or dealer, if the
problem persists.
Tighten bolts if they are loose.
Replace the damaged cushion plates.
Replace the damaged cushion plates.
Replace the damaged O-rings.
Re-tighten the hoses.
Replace the hoses, if oil leak persists.
Disassemble and check the concerned parts.
Contact PRODEM service or dealer, if the
problem persists.
