5.3. Gear oil inspection and oiling

Place compactor on flat ground, then check the
remained oil by removing "Level Plug".
Oil should be filled around plug hole for operation..
Oil need to be replaced every 1 year operation.
When oil is replaced, fill the gear oil until oil is come
out to level plug hole.
Tighten plug after refilling oil.
Recommended gear oil : 80W90

5.4. Maintenance instructions

Bolts & Nuts
This compactor is a vibratory machine which generates high impulsive vibration. So, it is very important to
keep the fastening parts such as bolts and nuts always properly tightened.
Always check tightness of the bolts and nuts before or after daily working.
Clean thread surfaces to be tightened.
Replace any damaged parts.
When tightening the bolts and nuts, be sure to;
Follow the tightening torques specified in
next section.
Always tighten bolts in a cross pattern.

Use only PRODEM's genuine bolts or nuts.
The bolts and nuts for general purpose can be replaced with approved equivalents.
Hydraulic motor
The hydraulic motor is a precision made hydraulic parts. Foreign particles in contaminated hydraulic oil may
result in failures to the hydraulic motor. Always check the oil filter and keep the hydraulic connections clean
to maintain cleanliness level of hydraulic oil.
The hydraulic motor is not user serviceable item. In order to prevent possible damages to the motor from
unallowed maintenance work, never attempt to disassemble it. It is strongly recommended to maintain by
authorized service personnel.
When it is necessary to repair or replace the hydraulic motor, please contact PRODEM or our dealer.
Bearings
Bearings are consumables with limited life because of the high loads and rotating speed under the normal
operating condition.
Check the bearings for wear, damage or breakage when possible symptoms of imminent bearing failure such
as followings;

Prior to applying torque, tighten all by hand to
seat the parts to be tightened.
Tighten to half of the specified torque in a
cross pattern.
Finally tighten to the specified torque in the
same pattern.
