Cushion plates (rubbers)
Because the cushion plates are subject to high load and large deflection, scratch, aging by oxidization, etc.,
it is required to check and replace them periodically.
Although the life of cushion plates depends primarily on operating time, it can be affected by working
environment and other factors. Extremely high or low temperature, humidity, chemicals or improper storage
can shorten their life.
Replace the cushion plates as follows;
1. Put the compactor on stable, flat surface.
2. Support properly the mounting frame using blocks or hoist so as to release weight on the cushion plates.
3. Loosen all bolts prior to removing the bolts.
4. Remove the bolts, nuts and cushion plates.
5. Remove any dirt, rust or scale on the contact surfaces of the frames and cushion plates.
6. Position new cushion plates and reinstall the bolts and nuts.
7. Follow the bolt tightening instruction described before.
If multiple cushion plates are to be replaced except that some of cushion plates damaged by special cause in
short time, it is recommended to completely replace a set of cushion plates at a time.
