5.11 Impeller

5.11.1 Remove the pump housing. See section Pump Housing.
5.11.2 Unscrew the impeller
5.11.3 Note: If the impeller is hard to remove, tap it with a plastic mallet. Do
5.11.4 Remove the four screws (5) and washers (6) securing the rear pump
5.11.5 Secure the rear pump flange (2) to the engine with the screws (5) and
5.11.6 Install the mechanical seal. See section Replacing the Mechanical
5.11.7 Screw the impeller (1) clockwise onto the engine shaft. DO NOT apply

CAUTION: When replacing either the impeller (1) or the rear pump
flange (2), make note of the I.D. numbers found on back of each
component casting (3). MAKE SURE THE REPLACEMENT PARTS
HAVE THE SAME NUMBER MARKINGS—THE PARTS ARE NOT
INTERCHANGEABLE.
Removal:
not lose any adjusting shims when removing the impeller.

threadlocker to the screws and torque them to 22 Nm (16 ft.lbs.)
Note: Install rear pump flange with the drain channel facing down.
