Install the removed A-2048-2 Washer and the B-3339 Propeller Mounting Bolt. Make
sure that you install the A-2048-2 Washer with the chamfered side facing the B-3339
Propeller Mounting Bolt.
(c)
Finger tighten the bolt.
B.
If the chamfered side of the A-2048-2 Washer faces the mounting flange of the propeller, do
as follows:
(1)
Discard the removed A-2048-2 Washer and the B-3339 Propeller Mounting Bolt.
(2)
Lubricate the threads and the underside of a new bolt head with lubricant conforming to AMS
2518 or MIL-T-83483.
(3)
Install a new A-2048-2 Washer and a new B-3339 Propeller Mounting Bolt. Make sure that you
install the A-2048-2 Washer with the chamfered side facing the B-3339 Propeller Mounting Bolt.
(4)
Finger tighten the bolt.

Repeat Step 3 for each of the remaining seven B-3339 Propeller Mounting Bolts and A-2048-2 Washers.
5.
Finish the installation of the eight B-3339 Propeller Mounting Bolts and A-2048-2 Washers. (Refer to
the Model 208 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 61, Propeller (Hartzell) – Maintenance Practices and the
Hartzell Propeller Owner's Manual and Logbook.)
6.
Complete the installation of the propeller as follows: (Refer to the Model 208 Maintenance Manual,
Chapter 61, Propeller (Hartzell) – Maintenance Practices.)
A.
Do the torquing of the eight B-3339 Propeller Mounting Bolts as specified in the Model 208
Maintenance Manual procedure.
B.
Safety two each of the bolts together with wire. (Refer to the Model 208 Maintenance Manual,
Chapter 20, Safetying - Maintenance Practices.)
C.
Remove the beta system compressor tool.
D.
Do a check to make sure that the carbon block will slide freely in the groove of the beta feedback
ring at all points without binding or excessive friction.
E.
Install the carbon block on the reversing lever.
NOTE: The lower end of the propeller reversing lever is machined with a stepped notch.
CAUTION:

Install the propeller reversing lever on the beta valve clevis and follow-up ring. For the installation
procedures for the propeller reversing lever refer to the applicable Pratt & Whitney Engine
Maintenance Manual.
G.
Use the index marks that you made on the spinner and on the spinner bulkhead to put the spinner
and the spinner bulkhead in installation position.
H.
With the kept screws and the fiber washers, attach the spinner to the spinner bulkhead.
I.
Install the right nose cap. (Refer to the Model 208 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 71, Nose Cap and
Cowl Bulkhead Installation.)
J.
Check the clearance between the spinner and the nose cap. Clearance should be 0.32 inch, +0.10
or -0.10 inch. (Refer to the Model 208 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 61, Propeller (Hartzell)
– Maintenance Practices.)
K.
Close the upper right cowling door.
7.
Remove the maintenance warning tags and connect the airplane battery.
8.
Do an engine run and make sure that the propeller operates correctly. (Refer to the applicable Pilot's
Operating Handbook.)

SERVICE LETTER
Make sure that the stepped notch at the end of the propeller reversing lever is
under the guide pin in the reversing lever guide pin bracket.
