Cessna has determined that some airplanes have been delivered with one or more of the eight propeller
mounting bolt washers installed with the chamfered side facing the mounting flange.
DESCRIPTION
This service letter provides parts and instructions to do an inspection of the propeller mounting bolt
washers to make sure that they are installed correctly. If they are not installed correctly, the bolts and
washers are discarded, and new ones are installed with the chamfered side of the washer facing the
bolt head.
COMPLIANCE
Mandatory: This service letter shall be accomplished within the next 50 hours of operation.

You must use the consumable materials that follow, or equivalent, to complete this service letter.

  • Page 2 SERVICE LETTER Caravan CAL-61-02 ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS Prepare the airplane for maintenance. Make sure that the airplane is electrically grounded. Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position. Disconnect electrical power from the airplane. Disconnect external electrical power. Disconnect the airplane battery. Attach maintenance warning tags to the battery and external power receptacle that have "DO NOT CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS"...
  • Page 3 SERVICE LETTER Caravan CAL-61-02 Install the removed A-2048-2 Washer and the B-3339 Propeller Mounting Bolt. Make sure that you install the A-2048-2 Washer with the chamfered side facing the B-3339 Propeller Mounting Bolt. Finger tighten the bolt. If the chamfered side of the A-2048-2 Washer faces the mounting flange of the propeller, do as follows: Discard the removed A-2048-2 Washer and the B-3339 Propeller Mounting Bolt.
