7.6 Installation procedure - Vertical borehole
It is important that the first section is installed into ground where no movement is anticipated
and thus acts as a datum.
Once prepared install the Casing as follows:-

7.6.1 First section

STEP 1 - Locate the peg on the
first length of Casing into the slot
on the bottom cap
STEP 2 - Push the bottom cap firmly onto
the bottom of the first length of
Casing until flush with the Casing.
STEP 3 - While the QJ Inclinometer Casing
has a locking mechanism it is
recommended using fabric tape
around the joint as this increases
the tensile strength of the joint by
approximately 50%.
