54_146380-B 1. INTRODUCTION Dear Customer, Thank you for purchasing your Hedge-trimmer Helion Alpha. Correctly used and maintained, this tool will give a satisfactory performance for many years. Warning Your device contains numerous recoverable or recyclable materials. Return it to your dealer or, failing this, to an approved servicing centre to be treated.

Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention when using a power tool can result in serious personal injury.
2.1.7. TOOL’S END-OF-LIFE MANAGEMENT When the tool reaches the end of its life, PELLENC keeps the end of life sheet of the equipment at disposal. The end of life sheet provides instructions for safely removing components.

4. COMMISSIONING For information about mandatory PPE when handling your tool, refer to Section 2.5, “Personal protection equipment”. The Hedge-trimmer Helion Alpha is delivered pre-assembled. Unfold the hedge-trimmer blade, charge and connect the battery, the tool is ready to use.

HEDGE-TRIMMER BLADE WORKING POSITION Adjust the angle of the hedge-trimmer blade according to the work to be done and to allow a comfortable working position. Press the hedge-trimmer blade pivot unlocking but- ton.
HEDGE-TRIMMER HELION ALPHA 54_146380-B 5.3. ADJUSTING THE WORKING POSITION The working position must be adjusted according to the size of the operator. It should allow easy use requiring little effort. The user should not work with arms stretched or com- pletely bent.
HEDGE-TRIMMER HELION ALPHA 54_146380-B 5.3.2. ADJUSTING THE CARRYING STRAP Put on the carrying strap. Adjust the length. Pass the end of the strap which is self-attaching un- der the main strap. Fold the self-attaching fastener over the main strap. Mount the carrying eyelet on the tool pole.

Note Repeat priming if you have released the control handle for more than 3 seconds. 5.7. HEDGE TRIMMING TECHNIQUES Important Always start the motor before bringing the hedge-trimmer blade into contact with the plant foliage.
6. SERVICE 6.1. ANNUAL OVERHAUL Important Have your machine serviced every 200 hours or at least once a year by a PELLENC authorised distributor. These parts must be replaced as a precautionary measure or at least once a year: Name...

HEDGE-TRIMMER HELION ALPHA 54_146380-B 6.4. TIGHTENING BLADES Tighten the screw (1) to a torque of 3 N.m using a Torx screwdriver. Tighten the lock nut (2) to a torque of 3 N.m with a torque wrench. Check the position of the blades, using a set of spac- ing shims.

Clean the blades with a damp cloth. Check that there is no residue between the blades. Clean and lubricate the blades with the cleaning / lubricating spray recommended by PELLENC, see Section 9.3, “Consumables”. Warning Never use solvents ( trichloroethylene, white spirit, petrol, etc.) to clean the tool.
Loosen the screw which gives access to the lubrica- tion area of the hedge-trimmer blade reducer using a T25 screwdriver. Remove the screw. Grease the reducer with the grease gun (20g maxi- mum grease) recommended by PELLENC, see Sec- tion 9.3, “Consumables”.
