The device runs a self-test during which the proper functionality of the internal electronics is checked. The internal circuit elements are cyclically monitored for faults during operation.

    Applications Commonly used applications are listed in the following chapter. All of these functions can be performed using the 3TK2845 multifunction device. The advan- tage of using this device is the fact that several safety-related functions i.e. pro- tective door monitoring and monitoring using non-contact protective equipment (BWS) such as light curtains and safety mats can be implemented using only one 3TK2845 multifunction device, rather than using several safety combina- tions.
