JP7 Position
Description
VCC 1.8V
1.8 V DC supplied by the XE1401 on-chip regulator
USB 5V
5 V DC supplied by the USB port J2
VCC 3.0V
3.0 V DC supplied by the onboard regulator U4
EXT_POWER
DC voltage supplied by the power supply connected on J1
OPEN
No power supply is selected, VOUT is floating.
The selected source supplies the external application board through the protection diode CR6. The supply voltage
is so reduced by the diode dropout voltage. This protection diode can be bypassed to avoid the voltage dropout
(see chapter 5.3.7 Protection Diode CR6 Bypass (JP12) ).
5.3.5

Codec Enable/Disable (JP8)

The XE3006 Slave Select (SS) line can be disconnected from the XE1401 by removing the jumper JP8 in order to
disable the CODEC.
Note! Removing JP8 does not power off the CODEC. The XE3006 is still powered and so still sinks current (see
XE3005/6 datasheet for more details about the XE3006 current draw).
