Devine Onyx subwoofers are fitted with a flange with an M20 screw thread into which a distance rod can be securely screwed to form a stable base on which a full-range speaker (satellite speaker) can be mounted. Using this kind of set-up saves the space that a normal speaker stand would take up. Since the weight of a subwoofer is usually greater than that of a standard speaker and has a larger top surface, it provides a more stable base than a stand.
