4-5. BB Board

The BB board receives analog RGB signals from the QA
board, digital RGB signals from the BC board (TMSD:
Panel Link ) and Windows CE digital signals from the QC
board.
The BB board converts these signals to the XGA signals
equivalent to VESA60 and outputs them to the C board
adding OSD signals.

4-5-1. Part of Input

Analog RGB signals are A/D converted by the
FMS9884AKAC175.
Digital RGB signals (Panel Link) are supplied from the
CN3003 after parallel conversion.
Signals from Windows CE are input to the CN3004 after
serial to parallel conversion by the LVDS receiver IC3030.
As these outputs are of 3 states and gives high impedance
when non-active, they are directly connected for being
input to IC3040.
Horizontal and Vertical Sync (GSS1, GSV1) signal for
each input signals mentioned on the above are output for
use of input detection to the C board through the buffer by
IC3064.
As analog RGB signals and digital data of the Panel Link
signals are output for amount of 2pixels at the same time,
data of 48 bits, which is counted by 3 colors x 8 bit x
2pixel, are input. Therefore, inputting clock "GCLK1" is
figured 32.5 MHz provided that dot clock of the input
signal is 65 Hz.

4-5-2. A/D Converter

FMS9884AKAC175 is the A/D converter with PLL,
incorporates clamp Amp., and provides maximum 175 MS/
s bits 3 colors.
It is controlled by the 12C line (SA, SL) from PW164. The
gain of FMS988AKAC175 is set to have 20% margin over
the input signal 0.7 V p-p.
Control of the Dot phase and H size is also performed
through the 12C line.
Although CLAMP or HSYNC polarity is programmable,
currently the former is output with negative polarity, and
the later with pulses of negative polarity.
Analog power source VD of the converter is noise-
stabilized by IC3057.
In addition, targeting further stability PLL power is
supplied by IC3028LP2985-3.5 that can enable the ceramic
condenser for use of output condenser.

4-5-3. CXD9606 (IC3040)

Input signals from A/D converter, and then transfer them
to the scan converter in the same format.
Contents of Input and Output signals are video image data
RE0 thru 7, RO0 thru 7, GE0 thru 7, BE0 thru 7, BO0 thru
7 and H.VSYNC CLOCK as a Sync system.
Processing main contents are of x2 in the line processing
speed and film video image processing.
The 12C line (SDA, SCL) controls this system IC same as
the case of A/D converter.

4-6. C Board

4-6-1. Overview

Main functions of this board are separated as the follows
one so called video signal processing system and another
so called controlling system.
The former, in other words, is to process digital video
signals all the way output from scan converter in the BB
board, 3Dγ , D/A converter, RGB Amplifier, Panel driver,
and timing generator and finally to drive the LCD panel.
The later, performs sorts of control by the Main CPU and
does down load of programs from the main CPU and Scan
converter.
