Travel Stop Operation
This section of the errata sheet contains new
information for the GX travel stop.
Principle of Operation
CAUTION
To avoid product damage (parts failure
and breakage) do not use the travel
stop option with size 1200 GX
actuators. It is designed for use only
with size 225 and 750 GX actuators.
The optional GX travel stop is designed to limit travel
of the valve plug to a preset position and is designed
for use on size 225 and 750 GX actuators. It is not
used on size 1200 GX actuators.
It can be configured to act as a down stop," which
keeps the valve plug from fully closing on the valve
seat. Likewise, it can be configured as an up stop"
to restrict the valve plug from traveling to the fully
open position.
The travel stop assembly is mounted to the actuator
yoke with four studs, as shown in figure 1. As the
valve strokes, the travel stop lever contacts the stem
connector, which stops further movement of the
valve stem and plug.

The restricted travel position is set through use of
the two adjustable cap screws on the lever. The
cover plate assembly is provided to eliminate the
possibility of pinch points.
To avoid personal injury or equipment
damage, do not lift the valve assembly
by the travel stop.
Design GX Travel Stop Installation
Downstop
1. When used as a downstop, the lever contacts the
bottom side of the stem connector, as shown in
figure 2.
2. Mount the travel stop to the mounting pad on the
GX actuator yoke with the four studs and nuts, as
shown in figure 1. Torque to 24.5 NSm (18 lbfSft).
3. Apply lithium grease to the tip of the lever (where
it contacts the stem connector) and two adjustable
cap screws, as shown in figure 2.
Upstop
1. When used as an upstop, the lever contacts the
top side of the stem connector, as shown in figure 2.
Setting the Travel Stop Position
1. To set the travel stop at the desired position, first
apply an air signal to the actuator.
2. Adjust the air supply until the valve stem is
positioned in the required location.
