For all commands that require a response, the response format is:

The exception to the above rule, is the turn laser off command. To turn the laser off, the host
sends ESC
where:

Upon receiving a command from the host, the scanner sends the required information. If
the command requires no information in return, such as a laser on command, the scanner
sends an ACK to acknowledge receipt of the command.
For the identify software response, <Data> consists of an ASCII alphabetic string that
defines the version of installed software.
