4� Verify the vehicle seat belt is not twisted and then fasten across
the child�
5� Route the lap part of the vehicle seat belt through the
SecureGuard clip�
NOTE: The lap part of the vehicle seat belt should rest low on
the child's upper thighs.
6� Remove slack from the vehicle seat belt�
NOTE: Proper positioning is achieved when the shoulder belt
lies across the center of the child's chest and is positioned at or
just above the child's shoulder.
7� Review Checklist on page 21 to ensure all steps have been
completed fully�

• Lap part of the vehicle belt is routed through the SecureGuard clip and rests low on child's
upper thighs�
• Shoulder belt is routed through the shoulder belt positioning clip and lies across the center
of the child's chest and is positioned at or above the child's shoulder�
