Usage conditions

z If you use packet communication of Xi/FOMA, set an access
point to sp-mode or mopera in Mobile network setting.
z If you use packet communication of Xi/FOMA, the download is
free of charge.
z If you update software overseas, you need to connect to Wi-Fi
with docomo nano UIM card not inserted.
z You cannot update if the software is modified.
z You can update software even if the handset contains data in it.
However, DOCOMO may not be able to protect data that could
be lost due to malfunction, damage, water exposure and so on. It
is recommended that important data be backed up before
updating software. For data on each app, the available range of
backup depends on apps. For details on the method of backup in
each app, contact the provider of the app.
Updating software
Starting update

To start update, carry out any of the operation as follows.
z From the notification which notifies you of update
Select the notification, [Software update notified] or [Software
update available], and start update.
z From the screen which appears regularly
When update is available, the confirmation screens for [Perform
Now]/[Later] may be displayed in full screen. Please select any
of actions on the confirmation screen and continue update.
z From the handset settings
In the home screen, select "apps
[Advanced]▶[Software Update]▶[OK] to start updating.
* When software update is not necessary, [No update required.
Use your device as it is.] appears.

Download and install update files
z Depending on update type, download or installation of the
update file are automatically carried out.
z Before carrying out download or installation of the update
file, the confirmation screens for [Perform Now]/[Later] may
be displayed. When the confirmation screen is displayed,
select any of items and continue software update.
