HDSL4 for Total Access 3000
H4TU-C for Total Access 3000 Form Factor
Carriers provide T1 line deployments from a
variety of access platforms. Ideally, service
providers look for a carrier class platform
that has multiservice capabilities including
delivery of the latest HDSLx technology.
ADTRAN
offers end-to-end HDSL4 card
®
solutions with the Total Access
Multiservice Platform. HDSL4 provides a
standards-based repeatered T1 transport
technology that remains spectrally compat-
ible with ADSL per ANSI T1.418.
ADTRAN's Total Access 3000 is an intelli-
gent carrier class multiservice access platform
for deploying Hi-Cap and DSL services. Total
Access 3000 offers unprecedented flexibility,
along with multiple service options and
management capabilities. Its real value in a
TDM configuration is its ability to deliver T1
lines out to various applications. This
compact, modular device is a single platform
for delivering manageable, profitable services
now and into the future. It supports HDSL,
HDSL2, HDSL4, DSX-1, and POTS applica-
tions in conjunction with IADs and other
network components.
HDSL4 offers improved operating margins,
a good price/performance value, and spec-
tral-compatibility with ADSL in the same
binder group. It allows extended deployment
range (without repeaters) beyond HDSL and
HDSL2. Carriers can avoid replacement of
costly repeaters in areas just beyond the CSA.
In fact, HDSL4 is the only extended reach T1
transport technology that is spectrally
compatible with ADSL (per ANSI T1.418)
when deployed with repeaters.
ADTRAN's HDSL4 solutions include
central office, repeater, and remote cards for
legacy form factors commonly found in
networks.
The ADTRAN Total Access 3000 HDSL4
Transceiver Unit for the central office
®
3000
(H4TU-C) is used to deploy an HDSL4 T1
circuit using 4-wire metallic facilities. The
unit occupies one slot in a Total Access 3000
shelf. The DS1 or DSX-1 input signal can be
supplied from the network or a Total Access
3000 Multiplexer (DS3, STS-1, or OC-3). The
HDSL4 signals are provided to the local loop.
The Total Access 3000 H4TU-C works in
conjunction with the ADTRAN H4TU-R and
up to two H4R repeaters to provide a DS1
service on the local loop.
ADTRAN's HDSL4 repeaters feature in-
band loopback control, remote provisioning,
and pass-through control. They are available
in standard T200 and 239 mechanics.
ADTRAN's HDSL4 units are equipped with
troubleshooting-at-a-glance LEDs that
provide customers with a simple means of
identifying the location of certain faults.
Several new screens have been added to the
craft interface to simplify the trouble isolation
process.
These HDSL4 units are equipped to
support the ADTRAN TScan
allows the remote retrieval of circuit diagnos-
tics and performs advanced fault location. For
implementation of TScan, please contact your
local ADTRAN sales representative.
