Can I use Video Capture with other capture cards, or is this program
exclusively designed for the PYRO ProDV card?
-Ulead created Media Studio Pro 6.0 to work with many dif-
ferent types of capture cards, including DV cards such as
PYRO ProDV. If you have another capture device or TV tuner
card, you can use Video Capture to capture video from other
sources such as TV broadcasts, analog camcorders or VCR's.
If you are using a standard video capture board such as the
ADS Channel Surfer TV (a basic capture board with BT848 or
BT878 chip) you can use the "Ulead MPEG Capture plug-in" to
capture MPEG 2 video in real time. ADS does not provide
technical support when you are using any other cap-
ture card, but we thought you should know about the
exibility of Media Studio Pro 6.0.
Do I have to preview the video capture at 720 x 480?
-No, you can select a smaller size. This may be recommended
if your system is a bit slow and the preview video is not
playing smoothly. It takes quite a lot of processing power
to decode the DV video and display at full resolution while
you are capturing video to the hard drive, all in real time.
To change the Preview size, be sure you are in PREVIEW W
MODE, select VIEW on the menu bar and change the Preview
Options.
What the heck is Batch Capture and why would I want to do this?
- Batch Capture is a tool, which automatically captures video
clips you have selected to be recorded. If you have hours
of video that you have taped, you don't want to capture
everything to your hard disk. You might want to preview
the video and make capture selections while you watch and
capture those selections automatically later. To prepare for
Batch Capture you set "Mark In" and Mark Out," points while
previewing the videotape. Video Capture keeps track of the
time code from the video tape for each mark-in, mark-out
