A packet sent to a single endstation on a network.
A suffix to an IP address that indicates the size of the subnet that
contains it. Taking the address 192.168.1.1/24 as an example, the
VLSM is /24 and indicates that the first 24 bits of the address form the
network part of the address.
Virtual LAN. A group of location- and topology-independent devices
that communicate as if they are on the same physical LAN.
A system that allows traffic for multiple VLANs to be carried on a single
link.
Wide Area Network. A communications network that covers a wide
area. A WAN can cover a large geographic area, and may contain
several LANs within it.
A standard for Digital Certificates as used by SSL.
